📋 What is NEET UG? Overview

NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test — Undergraduate) is India's single largest medical entrance examination. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it is the sole gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BSc Nursing, and Veterinary courses across all government and private medical colleges in India.

Over 20 lakh students appear for NEET every year, competing for approximately 1 lakh medical seats. The exam is conducted in pen-and-paper (OMR) mode in 13 languages across 500+ cities.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility
  • Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals
  • Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year. No upper age limit
  • Qualification: Passed or appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English
  • Minimum Marks: General — 50%, OBC/PWD — 40%, SC/ST — 40%
  • Attempts: No limit on number of attempts
